The closing chapters of the new Battlestar Galactica was guilty of that "let's just tack on some explanations" thing. I think they're just preparing fans for the fact that they aren't going to spell out every little thing just to make you feel better. Life's full of mysteries, Lost fans. Deal with it. besides, the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that Lost is a takeoff on Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Let's see... numbers that reappear over and over? Check! A crippled character that can suddenly walk again? Check! Multiple realities that exist at different points in time? Check! Flashbacks and flash-forwards? Check!
